My work divides between my personal experience and the environmental disasters we live in. I was born an only child, “sibling” is a word I never got to experience. My work tries to discover the “siblingness” with my “twin brother John”. John was given a persona, a background, and a personality. Through a series of photographs, John and Eric’s adventures display what a single child imagines siblings are like. With increasing pollution and harm to our land, my work explores the relationship and interaction between humans and our environment. If we claim to be making a change why does that change seem so slow, and who ends up responsible for these actions? Through photography and books, exposing the construction, destruction, and extraction to our land, displaying the living condition in communities, by presenting them side by side and in a book format to show the consequences of such disasters we often cause. my work shows the exchange between human intervention and destruction to our living conditions, to expose and interrogate the negative social and environmental consequences, and question the continuation of such behavior, especially from political and corporal gain. I seek to investigate and inform people of the threat that we face.
