Florencia Montefalcone

Florencia is a visual artist from Argentina. Her work is based on image making and installations, with a tendency to work with large scale prints and colored lights and objects, her art is about the human experience. Light, color and female bodies are the main characters, Florencia’s work is about questioning reality and the definitions of womanhood historically established by the white male gaze. “The utmost purpose of my art is to create from my female gaze. I am a woman, I am creating, I have the privilege to create, and I want my creations to be a part of the modern definition of womanhood. I am aware of growing up into definitions of what it is to be a woman that were not built by womanly experiences- instead, they were requisites established by a white male dominated society.”
