Viktor Knavs (b. March 24, 1944) is a Slovenian car dealer. He is the father of Melania Trump, third and current wife of Donald Trump.
Knavs was born on 24 March 1944, in Radeče, a small town in eastern Slovenia, and he grew up in Sevnica.
Early in his career, he worked as the chauffeur for the mayor of a nearby town. While working as the chauffeur, he met his future-wife Amalija (Ulčnik) Knavs, a pattern-maker at a children’s clothing factory. According to Univision, they lived in a two-room apartment, which they had acquired through the housing plan of the now liquidated Jutranca textile company.
Later, Viktor became a traveling salesman for a state-owned car company.
